The Department of College Foreign Language Teaching undertakes the teaching of college foreign language courses for undergraduate and postgraduate students across the University. It consists of several teaching and research sections, including General English, Academic English, Workplace English, and Cultural English. The languages offered include English, Japanese, Korean, German, French, and Russian, covering the five campuses of Changqing, Heze, Licheng, Caishi, and SCO Demonstration Area.
The Department currently has 43 faculty members, including 11 associate professors. In recent years, it has developed 1 Provincial First-class Undergraduate Course, undertaken more than 30 teaching reform projects at university level or above, published over 40 academic papers, and published 13 monographs and textbooks. Faculty members have guided students to win more than 500 provincial or higher-level awards in English competitions, and have received 39 provincial or higher-level awards in teaching competitions.
Guided by the fundamental mission of fostering virtue through education, the Department is committed to cultivating students’ intercultural communication competence, workplace communication skills, ability to communicate traditional Chinese culture in international contexts, and global competence. It actively works to build a foreign language education system aligned with the University’s academic strengths and institutional mission.
