为更好更快推进外国语学院翻译硕士专业学位点建设,进一步提升我院专业教师的教学及科研水平,拓宽我校翻译硕士研究生的知识面和学术视野,4月1日下午,中国海洋大学外国语学院院长、博士生导师杨连瑞教授,山东大学博士生导师刘振前教授应邀为我院师生分别做了题为“从师资队伍建设入手大力加强翻译专业学位点建设”和“认知语言学在英语教学中的应用”的专题讲座。讲座由外国语学院院长郑众主持,外国语学院部分教师和2018级英语笔译专业硕士研究生参加。
首先,杨连瑞教授从如何提高专业教师的教学能力和翻译专业研究生如何更好地进行专业学习两个方面进行了详细阐述并提出相关建议。他指出,教师应注重自身教科研实践能力的培养,并应加强科研与教学之间的联系,进而使自己的教学水平得以进一步提升。学生在翻译学习中应注重中英双语的学习,不可忽视汉语表达,并应确定自身的翻译方向,从而增强步入社会之后的竞争力。
然后,刘振前教授系统地讲解了认知语言学教学应用以及学习用途。他指出,语言学是学习任何一门语言的基础,翻译教学与语言学密不可分,并希望教师在教学中将语言学与翻译相结合,从而达到更好的教学效果;同时他还希望翻译硕士研究生在日常的学习过程中应充分意识到语言学的重要性,更好地达到社会对于翻译硕士研究生的职业需求。
以上两位教授的建议对推动我校翻译硕士专业学位点的建设起到了积极的促进作用,并对我院教师今后的教学和科研能力的提升指明了方向,对今后的翻译硕士专业学位点建设、专业教学以及研究生学习具有重要的指导意义。
Professor Yang Lianrui in Ocean University of China and professor Liu Zhenqian in Shandong University were invited to our school to give lectures
In order to better promote the construction of master's degree programs in translation in school of foreign languages, further enhance the teaching and scientific research level of professional teachers, and broaden the knowledge and academic horizons of masters majoring in translation, on the afternoon on 1st April, the dean of school of foreign languages in Ocean University of China, Yang Lianrui, was invited to give teachers and students a lecture entitled “Enhance the construction of master's degree programs in translation starting with the teaching staffs”. Professor Liu Zhenqian in Shandong University gave us another lecture entitled “The application of cognitive linguistics in English teaching”. Both of the lecture were presided over by the dean of school foreign languages, Zheng Zhong. Some teachers in the school and the postgraduate freshmen majoring in translation participated in.
Firstly, Professor Yang Lianrui elaborated in detail on how professional teachers improve their teaching ability and how postgraduates majoring in translation learn better. Then he put forward some relevant suggestions. He considered that teachers should pay attention to the cultivation of their practical ability in scientific research, and strengthen the relationship between scientific research and teaching, so as to further improve the teaching level. He also held that in the process of learning, students should focus on the learning both of Chinese and English and should seclect their own specific direction in the translation, so as to heighten the competitiveness when entering the society.
Professor Liu Zhenqian systematically explained the application of cognitive linguistics in teaching and learning. He pointed out that linguistics was the basis of learning any language and translation teaching was inseparable from linguistics. He hoped that teachers would combine linguistics with translation in their teaching so as to achieve better effect in teaching. At the same time, he also gave the advice that postgraduates in translation should fully realize the importance of linguistics in their daily learning so that they could meet the occupational needs of being a translator.
The suggestions of the above two professors played a positive role in promoting the construction of master's degree programs in translation in our school. They also offered the teachers a specific direction in the improvement of teaching and scientific research abilities. In short, their suggestions were important to guide the construction of master's degree programs in translation, professional teaching and postgraduates’ study in the future.
